Procedure for Ordering a Medallion.

Decide which medallion matches your house style, decor and personal tastes.
Select a medallion from one of our product pages, which are grouped by various periods of architectural history.

Determine if the medallion is properly proportioned for the room.
The size of a ceiling medallion may be determined by multiplying the length of your room (in feet) by the width of the room and dividing by 7. This gives you a suggestion of the dimensions in inches of a well proportioned medallion. For example, a 12' x 14' dining room could easily accommodate a 24" medallion: 12' x 14' / 7 = 24"
Generally, a larger medallion tends to look better in most rooms. Smaller medallions would be best in a small foyer or as a decoration over a door or window.

Select the colors for the medallion using one of the following methods:
1) Select the colors from the Liquitex color chart obtained from your local hobby shop or from the following link:
2) Send us a paint chip or fabric swatch that you are trying to match.
Note: All of our paints are professional grade artists colors. The colors shown on color charts, brochures and/or portfolios may vary from the actual color due to variations in monitors and limitation of the 4-color printing process.

Determine where the medallion is to be installed.
If the medallion does not have a center hole and you want to install it over a fixture, you MUST order the medallion pre-drilled by specifying the size of center hole with your order. All gilded elements, including the center hole, MUST be sealed prior to gilding. Failure to do so could result in premature aging of the gold on the medallion.

Confirm the order.
After we receive your order, we will paint a sample of each color on the order blank, which will be returned to you for verification and acceptance. Then, you need only to sign and return the form. Once we receive your payment and acceptance, we will begin the creation of your very own work of art.
